May 31st Trail Event:
a Celebration of the Trail
and Demonstration of the Potential Impacts of Trains on the Trail
Thank you to 400 Event Participants!
Thank you to all who were able to attend the Trail Event. All of our 300 T'shirts were filled, and the Post photographer estimated more than 400 trail users participated in the Event.

Thank you to the Bethesda Civic Coalition, Chevy Chase West, Citizens Coordinating Committee on Friendship Heights, Town of Chevy Chase, Village of Chevy Chase, Section 5, Town of Oakmont, Town of Somerset, and Friends of the Trail in Battery Park, Chevy Chase Hills, East Bethesda, Edgevale, Farmington, Hamlet Place, Martin's Additions, Sacks Neighborhood Association, Village of Drummond, Greater Bethesda Chevy Chase Coalition, and the Save the Trail Petition.
A special thanks to Pat Burda, Mary Anne Hoffman, and Tina Copland from the Town of Chevy Chase for working endless hours in preparation for this event.
And thank you to the dozens of supporters who helped with the Information Stations.

Delegate Brian Feldman, who is the head of the Montgomery County Delegation, District 18 State Senator Rich Madaleno, District 18 Delegate Al Carr, Chief of Staff from Montgomery County Councilmember Marc Elrich's office, representatives from Congressman Van Hollen and Councilmember Floreen's office, Tom Autrey, Montgomery County Planning Board staff for the Purple Line Citizen's Advisory Committee.
Where were Trail Participants From?
Particpants came from near and far -- Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, Kensington, other points in MD, and DC and Virginia.
